Nunney Castle


"The striking and pictuesque moated castle of Nunney was built in the 1370's by Sir John de la Mere... Held for the King during the civil war, it was quickly reduced by Parliamentarian cannon in 1645: but not until Christmas Day 1910 did the gun damaged portion of the wall collapse."
